½ day Husky excursion to Sarpagajik
An easy and relaxing trip, we cross the Ammassalik fjord, mount the low hills on the North-East side and descend into Sarpagajik fjord. Stop at a point close to the meeting of fjord and coastal pack ice, called Sarpaq. Here currents in the shallow water make an icefree pool where edible seaweed can be gathered, and we can try this local delicacy if the tide is low. A hot drink and sightseeing of the packice before returning to Tasiilaq, with an impressive view of the town in its mountainous setting as we descend toward its fjord from the opposing side.

1-day Husky excursion to Ikkatteq
A full days dogsledging and visit to an outlying settlement West of Tasiilaq. Traversing the fjord beside Tasiilaq to its end, the route follows into a hinterland of hills and lakes and rises to a mountain pass at 2000 feet where the majestic Sermilik fjord comes into view. Descending toward the western coast of Ammassalik island, including an impressive frozen waterfall, we arrive on the seaice amid immobilized icebergs and arrive at the picturesque island village of Ikkatseq, population 2 families. Lunch in this typical traditional settlement, where life is based on fishing and hunting seals and polar bears, completely without modern conveniences. Sledging home to Tasiilaq, gasp at the dogs clawing their way up the frozen waterfall, and the fast final downhill run toward the Ammassalik.

2-day dogsled tour to Tiniteqilaaq
This is a favoured journey of all locals, crossing the length of Ammassalik island from South to North and arriving at the village of Tiniteqilaaq on the Sermilik fjord.The highlight of the trip enroute is the crossing of the Asingaleq glacier at an altitude between 2-3000 feet, and the magnificent views from this. The village is said by many to be the most picturesque of all, and here the use of kayaks for narwhale hunting still exists . Across the fjord lies the great Greenland Icecap.Overnight in village.
